Sao Tome & Principe
Island Deepwater Port

Sao Tome Island Deepwater Port:  The country of Sao Tome & Principe intends to capitalize upon soon-to-come oil revenues in order to finance its major infrastructure project needs.  The top priority of the country is a new deepwater port that would serve as a multifunctional complex serving the needs of the island, acting as a point of call of service for offshore oil platforms, and act as a transshipment hub for the region.  USTDA is currently funding a feasibility study on the establishment of the new deepwater port in Sao Tome. The feasibility study is currently underway and could be completed by the time of the orientation visit.
