decision/analysis partners has developed an itinerary that is designed to address key areas of interest of the delegation:
- Ore, grain and coal terminals
- Oil company and oil platform services
- Port expansion and modernization
- Container facilities
|
- Transshipment operations
- Intermodal connectivity
- Relationships with major shipping lines
- Deepwater port development
|
As a result, we are proposing to visit three cities and, in each city, to visit a number of port terminals, organizations and U.S. providers of equipment and services.
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will sponsor an orientation visit from July 10th-20th, 2005 to familiarize a delegation of eleven officials from West and West-Central Africa with U.S. port infrastructure and operation and U.S. port industry organizations. The delegates will also improve their knowledge of US shipping operators and U.S. suppliers and service companies in the port industry. The delegation plans to visit three port complexes in New York City, New York, Duluth, Minnesota, and Houston, Texas. This orientation visit will culminate with a Business Briefing for U.S. companies that will be held on July 19th in Houston, Texas. The Business Briefing will be an opportunity for U.S. Companies to meet with high level delegates and hear from them about their future projects and possibilities for business partnerships. The delegation presentations will be followed by optional one-on-one meetings with the delegates.
We believe that the itinerary we have designed will meet and exceed the needs of the West African delegation. Our senior team will to undertake this orientation visit and provide expert guidance both at the preparation and in the implementation stages. decision/analysis partners will leverage its internal expertise in transportation and logistics and our successful experience with similar orientation visits in the last few years.
