In August 2003, Malaysian Airlines (MAS) passenger load returned to its pre-SARS level, much faster than anticipated. With the growth in the economy and in air traffic, Malaysia must continue to develop its airport sector and maintain a high level of airport security in order to keep attracting tourists to its shores.
The purpose of this orientation visit (OV) is to provide Malaysian officials with a sweeping and detailed look at the U.S. air security system, at U.S. air security technology product and services, and at trends that will help them future-proof their investments in technology and people.
The delegation will visit San Francisco, Atlantic City and Washington DC. On April 18th, the delegation will participate in a business briefing in Washigton DC, where high-level officials from Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, Royal Malaysian Customs, Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd, and executives from several private airlines will present their needs in terms of aviation security technologies. The briefing will followed by a limited number of one-on-one meetings, lasting 12-15 minutes each.
