Limbe Port: Cameroon’s principal port, the Port of Douala, is overcrowded and can only undergo limited expansion. A new deepwater port complex at Limbe has been proposed to alleviate congestion at the Port of Douala. USTDA has co-funded two studies on the port and has featured the project at a conference. The feasibility study has been completed and the project developers have made attempts to attract a major shipping line to invest in the project.
The Port of Limbe Steering Committee has been developed to promote and eventually implement the project, with approval from the Ministry of Transportation.
